The Science Museum, one of the three South Kensington museums, is well laid out, visually appealing, and packed with interesting exhibits.
One exhibit stood out. The top floor of the museum is a dark, cavernous space packed with flying machines ranging from bird-like human-powered devices to modern military aircraft and a slice of a 747. The story of the first cross-Atlantic flight, from Newfoundland to Ireland, is particularly memorable. Unfortunately the lighting in this space is poor.
The museum was also packed with out-of-control screaming children, too young to benefit from the exhibits. Noise-cancelling earbuds recommended.
