We made a return visit to a favourite Paris museum, the Musée de la Musique. This is our second visit so I'll refer to the prior post from 2021 and won't repeat what I wrote in that post. Said simply, this a museum of musical instruments from around the world (yes, largely western) and through much of history (ditto). In addition to textual descriptions (in French) of the instruments, many are also accompanied by links to the wonderful audio guide (in multiple languages). I especially enjoyed the audio guide's coverage of the stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, etc.) with examples of their place in the classical music repertoire. Just beautiful.

The museum is well priced at 10€, and that includes the essential audio guide. My only complaint is there is too much to consume in one visit.

Banjo and mandolin demonstration

We were treated to a personal (an audience of six) concert featuring music and commentary on the mandolin followed by the banjo (shown in the photo). Pleasing music, friendly banter, in French and in English.
