Welcome to the first post in my travel blog.
Why, you might wonder, did I start here? Why does this blog begin back in 2004, with a hike in the Alps?
Well, the blog starts here because this was my first time traveling with a digital camera, a Canon S1 IS. The little Canon, whose only weakness was a hunger for batteries, freed me from packing film rolls, juggling ISO levels, and sending film in for development. This was liberating.
