We miss you, Lucy. It happened so fast, you were here and then you weren't. Too fast. Too jarring.
Your absence is felt every day. When I come down the stairs I look to where I used to see you lying on your bed, your head then raised as your eyes followed me. I miss you at my window, making eye contact, letting me know you want in. I miss our walks, even those we shortened because you were struggling. I miss the feel of your soft fur. I miss knowing any stranger at the door will be greeted with a loud and deep barking. We miss you, Lucy.
