We drove north to Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti d'Ampezzo (Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites) where our friendly and helpful driver parked the car and showed us to the trailhead. We couldn't put it off so after a bit of talking we strapped on our packs and started off down the trail.
