Yay, we are in Paris (and so the series of Dolomites posts are on hold). We are here to eat pastries, walk the scenic old streets, look at art, and take a few photos. We've seen the major sights on previous visits so expect no photos of, oh, Versailles. It's not that interesting anyway.

So far, all has gone well. The Air France flight was uneventful. We wore KN95s the whole way, save meals. The airports weren't busy, the plane was not full, we landed at de Gaulle an hour early, and Paris passport control was a breeze. After a slow taxi ride through bumper-to-bumper traffic we arrived at our 16th arrondissement apartment. Tania, the friendly apartment manager, met us there and gave us a rundown of the facilities and explanations for how things are done in Paris. The apartment is comfortable, attractive, and well equipped. (Photos in a future post.) My only complaint is the claustrophobic elevator—it's barely larger than a casket. I'm taking the four flights of stairs.
